Okay so in class we were measuring biofeedback reactions or basically our “fight or flight” response. So we were all hooked up to measure are breathing, heart rate and surface temperature and then placed under different levels of stress to test how we reacted. First was just measuring how you normally breath, then came the stress tests. The first test involved playing the Perfection game (the one that pops in the middle of it and throws you off.), the second was playing the game again against the timer plus another person, and the third test was playing it once more against the timer, a person, and people YELLING IN YOUR EARS. Finally, you are measured in how you react when you relax (i.e. go to your happy place).
I reacted fine in the normal and relation, but when it came to the stress tests, welll…
I could not get stressed for NOTHING.
No joke. Totally stoic throughout the whole thing and won every round. They even shortened the time, made me laugh like crazy, and had the teacher come and threaten to take points away from my grade and my groups. The only time my heart rate and temperature raised a little bit was when they took a piece from me without me knowing, but it quickly went down when I figured it out (and a solution; aka I took my competitor’s piece and put it in mine. *Mwahahaha!*). But yeah it was fun! We all had a laugh and basically I was the only one with these results, which meant I was the only one with a screwed up flight or fight response (as my teacher informed me). So the rest of the day my friends joked with me about it and asked why I was so stoic and emotionless. One friend gave a reason: “Wanna know why she’s like that? It’s because she’s seen some serious sh**.”
Made me laugh so hard!
